Save Andhra Pradesh - failed democracy

Andhra Pradesh is on the verge of burning again. This time with the announcement of the Terms of Reference for the Justice Srikrishna commission. Since the sad demise of YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Sep'09 there is no stopping for the troubles in the state. Both the Government and the opposition have failed to deliver to the people. One man, K Chandrasekhara Rao took the state for ransom. In the end, it is the people of the state have been suffering. Number of innocent people and some of them been students committed suicides. Scores of business establishments have been ransacked for one reason or other. State road transport corporation (APSTRC) lost crores of rupees due to random and public fury. There is no freedom of speech for the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema region. They are seen as traitors and settlers in their own land. Tollywood cannot screen their films in the Telangana Region with out the ransom payments to KCR family or without the implicit support of his daughter or son or nephew Harish Rao.

Where this state is heading? We have a Chief minister called Rosaiah, who is threatened by his own cabinet minister yet, CM cannot do anything. No one listens to him. And when he speaks no one understands. We have a opposition leader in Chandrababu Naidu never seen raising up to the occasion and taking a stand on the suffering of people in the state. With the huge leadership vacuum after YSR death this canny politician would have guided the state but for his vested interests. We have now so many "gally" leaders we think they can do anything in the state without fear.

Universities have become sanctuary for the violent agitations across the state. Students cannot study for the exams. Professors like Kodandaram have become leaders overnight. These professors threten the people, politicians and anything. Caste and religion are again showing colours. Muslims in the state until now remained nonchalant have started entering the scene. The dalits vs upper caste supremacy is sprouting once again.

Government treasury is now getting empty. All promises are now turning empty. Businesses are looking elsewhere - safe destinations.

Impose President rule and give charge to ESL Narasimhan, Governor of the state. When democracy becomes a mockery there is no option but to impose dictatorship in public interest.
