Undavalli Arun Kumar is politician of intellect and logic. At first, a brief reading of his political standing and acumen is necessary to gain insight and then, understand the logical basis for his Rajahmundry rally. Largely uncontroversial, perhaps little known until Margadarsi episode Arun Kumar public profile had a meteoric raise soon after this head on with Ramoji Rao. It was a well known fact, YS Rajasekhar Reddy personal animosity with media baron was genesis for Arun Kumar's allegations. Being a close associate of YSR and a lawyer by profession, Arun Kumar by and large did a splendid job damaging the reputation of Godly Ramoji Rao. However, his prescience and oratory skills together have raised his reputation in Delhi. He became on of the key "advisors" to high command. At the same time, unlike many other vocal and public attention seeking politicians, he remained largely a back room operator keeping his political network intact.
Against this background, his recent rally and the speech [for Unified Andhra Pradesh] at his
home constituency Rajahmundry is already creating waves in the state.
Leaving aside the emotional and illogical outbursts, noise and clutter it is clear that
Arun Kumar is clearly giving a message either for the United Andhra
Pradesh or for the bifurcation of the state. As it happened in the case of Margadarsi episode, there is no personal or political gain for Undavalli by becoming a center of attention. Also, the Seema Andhra group is lead by the powerful Lagadapati Rajgopal, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao or Kavuri Sambasiva Rao (until his recent exit from the scene). There is a general feel KVP Ramachandra Rao could be the mastermind behind this event and speech there of. However Arun Kumar, a life time Congress loyalist and sort of a blue eyed boy of Congress high command would not take a risk of making both logical and emotional statements without the blessings of Congress High Command. To put it simple - at this juncture, the Congress high command would not like accrual of further complications from some one like Vundavalli Arun Kumar.
In a nutshell, Rajahmundry Member of Parliament is conveying high command message. Analyzing his speech, it is obvious that there are two key issues on the table to be resolved. First, what to do with the Hyderabad? In his speech and subsequently, despite saying "Jai Telengana", he is making a strong case that - never in the history of independent India - state Capital region was included in request for separation. Madras, Bombay, Patna, Bhopal remained with the original unified state while rest of the state was separated into Andhra, Gujarat, Jarkhand or Chattisgarh. Does it mean - Telengana without Hyderabad is a possibility with out further bloodbath?
Second, and more importantly - who should take the credit for creating a Telengana state? As long as TRS remains a separate political entity, the credit would go to Telengana Rastra Samithi and K Chandra Sekhar Rao & his family (son K T Rama Rao, daughter K Kavitha and nephew Harish Rao). This is a risk Congress does not want to take. At his best, KCR is least trustworthy partner and his maverick decisions and outbursts or on par with Mamata Benerjee . Hence, Undavalli cleverly explained TDP and Chandra Babu Naidu case in the context and explained why Naidu was not adored by TRS despite his revised positive stand to create Telengana. As long as Congress is in power, the credit for any success and political benefit must go to Gandhi's. As of now, it is not possible. Hence, Arun Kumar is repeatedly stated that it is TRS which does not want Telengana for political gains in 2014. It means, only on prior [unconditional] merger of TRS, Congress would make a positive announcement.
Finally, he lead to the key point to have a logical and meaningful discussions between the leaders of both regions [setting aside emotions and sentiments]. This means, protecting the interests of Andhra and Rayalaseema region and their people in Telengana.
Unless all these these three points are agreed in principle by TRS and Congress leaders in Telengana, Congress High Command is not in a position to take a final decision.
This time, they could not find any better politician than Vundavalli Arun Kumar who is good at explaining subtle issues. Job done, but will it yield results?

Bollywood Climax for Telengana
Going by the recent reports, majority people are lead to believe that Congress High Command is now close to take a decision on Telengana. Since Congress came to the power in 2004 the Political, Cultural, Economic and Social equations in the state are in constant flux. Soon after the sudden demise of YS Rajasekhar Reddy - during the tenure of Rosaiah the state went through it's worst patch. However the current Chief Minister could moderate the situation to a great extent. As it stands, the Telengana movement is off the cliff. The Telengana Rastra Samithi (TRS) and it's maverick leader K Chandra Sekhara Rao (KCR) have more or less come to a conclusion that the current UPA government would not grant the Telengana statehood.
At this juncture, while the agitation is subdued and normalcy is returning in the state, recent decision of Union Home Minister Shinde is a surprise. This process, I would imagine it is more of a strategic move of Congress. It's survivability in power post 2014 elections, now firmly hangs on the numbers returned to Parliament from Andhra Pradesh.
Coming to the facts, it is an open secret that the Congress party and it's Government general health is very bad. The Congress MP numbers elected from Andhra Pradesh were key for the two term UPA Government. Also, Congress never formed Government at Delhi without winning Andhra Pradesh. If Congress were to form the next Government in 2014 and crown Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister - it is the time Congress must take some important strategic decisions.
From ground zero (the possibility of winning no seats), the decision should be purely for short term gains. Already some Congress spin doctors in Andhra region are singing to the tunes of High Command supporting Telengana State. The key challenge though is to take a prudent decision out of infinite options - including no decision.
To put it in plain and simple terms, formation of Telengana is more than a political decision. Passions would run very high on the other side in Seema-Andhra (as we have seen in Telengana region until now) and people would come on to the roads spontaneously. While Telugu Desam got into the political trap, Jagan and his YSR Congress is non-committal on the bifurcation. When emotions raked up, logical explanation would not work. TDP and Congress would washout in elections. In a nutshell, YSR Congress clean sweep in both State and Parliament elections (in Seema - Andhra). It would become reckoning force in national political scene.
On the other side, in Telengana - as it happened with Prajarajyam Party, TRS would merge with Congress. This combined political entity (Congress + TRS) would gain good numbers in elections, but it is not going to be a clean sweep. Hyderabad Metro area, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahabub Nagar districts would become key battle grounds. It is hard to tell, but in all likelihood - YSR Congress may emerge winner in these close contests.
Since TRS would lose it's public identity, like PRP it would become irrelevant. TDP would continue to have another 5 years of opposition benches behind Congress in Andhra and behind YSR Congress in Telengana.
Now going back to Delhi backroom operator strategy, the numbers as a result of decision on Telengana (pure bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh) would not help Congress and NDA. While this outcome is a disaster for TDP, Congress would as well pay a heavy price. Then why would Congress high command go for a decision that would immensely benefit their political opponent?
Hence, Congress would need a different strategy that would accommodate "interests" of the three regions in some ratio and at the same time maximize the benefit for the party. If full Telengana statehood is granted, then the credit would go to TRS and in particular KCR. Again while Congress is in power all the credit must go to Gandhi's. In the long run, though it could seek "strategic" understanding with the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - it is difficult to imagine if Jagan would be a Chiranjeevi to surrender completely. Now that he has been languishing in the jail for too long, Jagan would definitely seek a political revenge. Immediate crowing of Rahul Gandhi is very difficult. Again the key question - why to take a decision comes back to the frame.
Here is crux of the issue - Hyderabad metro area.
Congress would have to come with a Bollywood movie style climax. Finish all the opponents and make the audience very happy. Make Madam Gandhi and Price Rahul heroes.
The theme is - Grant Telengana state without Hyderabad Metro. On the face of it, Telengana side politicians would at first resist the decision. As it is happening with Mayawati or Mulayam, Congress high command could use the "Assets" or "CBI" to force KCR and the vocal Congress leaders to silence. Any residual resistance would taper off once the passions subside. On face of it Telangana is granted. For KCR, ambition of becoming Chief Minister would be full filled, perhaps for one term. Subsequently, the new Telengana State would be fertile ground for BJP.
On the other side in Rayalaseema and Andhra regions, as long is Hyderabad is out of newly proposed Telengana state, then all classes of people would be more or less satisfied. Political and business class would see potential opportunity to "develop" a new state (Seemandhra or Andhra Pradesh as it would be called). It is not difficult to sell both logic and emotions to the mass voters. Any resistance from united Andhra forces would similarly taper off soon afterwards.
Since MIM is out Congress favour (perhaps their strategic blunder), they have limited options to resist. As long as Hyderabad is kept out, on the face of it - it is good decision for Muslims. With long term prospects for BJP on raise with in the new Telengana State, MIM also gain equally. If Hyderabad is made a new State (or Union Territory) - MIM is likely to form a Government sooner than later.
For Congress, this decision would ensure footing on either side of the fence. YSR Congress cannot sweep the state. Telegu Desam Party and Chandrababu Naidu would be blamed by all quarters. Congress back room operators can always play a secular card and form alliance with MIM.
New States would return to a sort of normalcy and 2014 elections run would kick off.
Rahul Gandhi would be praised for his extraordinary political acumen for resolving a complex issue simmering for nearly five decades or more!
Win for Congress and MIM. Partial win for TRS and YSR Congress. Total loss for TDP.

Chiranjeevi - The Mega Disaster
Despite the persistent political chaos in Andhra Pradesh, 2011 elevated the fortunes of many leaders in the bargain politics. Without getting anything substantial even after bringing the State virtually to grinding halt for more than two months, K Chandrasekhar Rao remains the powerful political force. Lacking almost all the qualities needed to run an Indian State in the modern times, Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy's political graph swung into a bull territory. Botsa, the new PCC chief emerged equally a powerful entity in the State political scene this year. Despite the onslaught from CBI (read Congress High Command) YS Jaganmohan Reddy remains evergreen, dynamic, heroic and the potential political bulldozer. Despite being in political oblivion for most of the year, fortunes of Chandrababu Naidu and his Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have surprisingly on uptrend. KK, Kaka and VH the self proclaimed Telangana heroes have been squared up by the Delhi political bosses.
This leaves, the Megastar Chiranjeevi who moved from reasonably commanding position with in the state political scene to a damp squib. I think, Chiranjeevi represents a text book case for any politician in the state - "how to fail?". Chiru started with a hype. Just taking a single page from NT Rama Rao meteoric raise in the politics. Just because, he was in a similar position in Tollywood as undisputed number#1 hero, like NTR - Chiru thought that he could repeat the same magic and become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Chiru is not NTR let it be on silver screen or in politics.
NTR had a clear vision. His vision stems from the then prevailing pathetic political scenario in AP. Unlike Chiranjeevi, NTR was a learned man. He was emotional yet had lot of clarity. He was eccentric yet, there was consistency. He was independent yet, a first class leader. He dared to challenge, worked against odds and delivered to the people on promises. He attracted the young and talented. Finally, NTR cultivated his political base - predominately around the backward classes who until then had no political representation in the state Though he had his own share of failures, on the balance - NTR status is legendary.
Chiranjeevi had no vision. His ambition was to become Chief Minister with out cultivation of a strong political base. Despite coming from a numerously strong Kapu Community, Chiru was defeated in his political heartland - Palacole. Chiru was emotional but had no vision. He could not convey a meaningful message. Unlike NTR, this time Chiru was facing perhaps two of the strongest political leaders in YSR and CBN. Chiru's understanding of social, political and cultural history of Andhra Pradesh was below the par of a X class student. By any measure he is not a learned man. Chiru, did not have stamina and conviction that he could make it to the top. He basically took a gamble around his screen image. He sold his brand name and in the process made a personal fortune for himself. In this internet era, Chiru's Public relation skills are at best counter productive.
Nurturing and cultivating a political base is key for a Leaders' success (Manmohan Singh is no exception though his political base is just around a single square plot of land - 10, Janpath). Even the so called modern mass leader, Y S Rajasekhar Reddy is no exception. He toiled hard for decades and cultivated his own political back yard regionally, on caste and religious lines, and at the national level.
Election records clearly indicate that, but for Chiranjeevi entry Congress would have lost 2009 elections. Then with his 18 member elected MLA count, Chiru saved Kiran Kumar Reddy Government in 2011. The Two big services to the AP state!. In the process, from a position of the Leader of a political party, he zeroed himself to nothing. Even Majlis with a mere strength of 5 members know better of bargaining politics than novice Chiranjeevi.
Now, Chiranjeevi ambitions have zeroed to a Cabinet post either at Delhi or in Hyderabad. Chiranjeevi despite all the public display of his comical statements and emotions does not understand the Congress and Delhi High Command. Congress in a nutshell is a Trading Party. This means, one should bring something on the table - to get something back in return. Ajit Singh brought 5 MP's and a huge percentage of votes that would add up to Congress in upcoming UP elections. Sharad Pawar, Karunanidhi or Mamata Benerjee all have something to trade - otherwise a constant threat to government and it's survival.
Chiranjeevi and his 18 numbers have no real value. Congress can easily buy them off at any time. Chiranjeevi does not have a political base (like Majlis), Political acumen (like PV), brand integrity (like Manmohan Singh), backroom maneuvering skills (Kavuri or Rayapati), mass following (like KCR), money (like Lagadapati or Jagan) and finally with in his own Kapu Community he is not even the strongest leader (like Botsa). This leaves Chiranjeevi with the tainted silver screen legacy. When the next elections come up, Chiru is not even a guaranteed crowd puller (perhaps, he will have to compete with the likes of NTR Jr, who is a better orator by yards).
In summary, if there is no intrinsic value to put on the table and trade - with in Congress party there won't be any value or recognition. Unless something extraordinary happens, 2011 marks the end of Chiranjeevi political career. He may dream of Cabinet berths but High Command would not bless with anything substantial. Chiranjeevi is in no better position than the "intelligent" lawyer he played in one of his blockbuster movie Abhilasha. Ironically, the screen name also was Chiranjeevi.
It is a Mega disaster!

Kadapa and Pulivendula fight to Finish
No single election would have ever decided the future of so many politicians and political parties in Andhra Pradesh state. For winners and losers their future would never be same again - and here comes mother of all political battles, Kadapa and Pulivendula.
Let's start with YS Jaganmohan Reddy (today officially declared the richest politician in India). If he and his mother Vijayalakshmi could not win both the seats - for now Jagan political future is over. For all the firebrand displays, the muscle power and the mobilization of resources - this is the worst outcome. He would be deserted by everyone including his closed and most vocal supporters. Jagan would be attacked at his business foundations and it would be impossible for him to survive the mighty congress and Yellow Media onslaught. The biggest beneficiaries of this outcome: Ramoji Rao (Eenadu) and Vemuri Radha Krishna (Andhra Jyothy) as their media empire can pip Sakshi. For Congress and TDP on the whole it would not be any major impact - since Jagan would be written off as a flash.
If Telugu Desam Party, after all the search light operations to find a "candidate" looses both the seats to YSR Congress - it is the beginning to the end of Telugu Desam Party. Already beaten out off Telangana Region, Chandrababu Naidu could forget his dreams of 2014. Having seen the recent "proxy" revolt from Harikrishna and Nandamuri family (less Balakrishna), the key question would be "who will revive this party and bring it back to the glory days of NTR". Naidu would be a liability than an asset by any measure both for party, sympathisers and Telugu people as well. This is in a way, second best option for the Congress Party (if it comes second in the order). It can join with the Telangana Rasta Samithi (TRS) leader KCR and achieve the common objective of finishing TDP once for all. With Jagan's victory, there will be huge exodus from TDP & Congress. The time would have arrived for emergence of a true Leader with in TDP not a political manipulator like Naidu. In way, it is good for TDP provided - if a leader emerges out of the political chaos. Biggest beneficiaries of this out come: K Chandrasekhar Rao
Going by indications, the likelihood of TDP winning even a single seat is at odds. However, if out of magic - in case TDP could beat YSR Congress and Congress to win one seat, and YSR Congress wins other seat - then Andhra and Rayalaseema politics would be further fragmented. This does not help TDP revival in Telangana. There are no immediate winners or beneficiaries. But the biggest looser will be Kiran Kumar Reddy and D Shrinivas
The worst scenario is Congress winning both the seats. This will push state into further crisis. Already limping with worst administration and absence of political leadership - it would be impossible to stop Congress leaders. In a way, this is end of YSR Congress and Jagan. For TDP, Naidu may play a tone that the party never held any grip in this part of state (only if it comes second above YSR congress). YS Rajasekhara Reddy legacy is now transferred to Congress. And all Congress leaders at Hyderabad and Delhi will make it a point to finish any of YSR credible legacy into history (like it happened with PV Narasimha Rao). Biggest beneficiaries: TDP rebels and TDP Telengana leaders.
As it is generally predicted at this point, if YSR Congress wins both the seats -then without any doubt, both Congress and Telugu Desam Party would plunge into crisis. With no hope of TDP winning 2014, all equations will shift. All the fence sitters in both the parties, would come out in open. Congress high command for the first time since 1983 (after NTR shock victory), would see the biggest threat to its solid power base. And for Congress it will be beginning to end of Government in Delhi. No Congress Government formed in Delhi, without winning Andhra Pradesh. And Congress knows this - and hence it is investing all the time and energy to avoid the debacle. Biggest looser: "Prince" Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister in waiting.
Without any doubt, Kadapa and Pulivendula elections are fight to finish. Strangely, the out come of the result in either way - would not have any impact on the political fortunes of YS Vivekananda Reddy, DL Ravindra Reddy or other candidates. Everyone knows, they are just pawns in the larger political game.
For one thing, YS Jagan must be admired for his guts to take on two powerful parties.

Hero of 2001-2011 decade: K Chandrasekhar Rao
A decade is a long time for an individual life, a state or nation's history. To remain a poweful Leader, despite all the odds and strong anti-currents would be a remarkable achievement. In order to sustain a movement, that had split a race vertically for more than a decade requires political acumen, survival instincts and above all supreme energy. To sustain the critical mass and to keep the movement ever green amongst the die hard fans or die hard opponents and to remain a centre of attention amongst the not so friendly media requires above all - common sense. And that would fit to Kavlakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao, the President of the Telengana Rastra Samithi.
Even after the decade long fight, the Telengana state looks like a mirage. Each time, KCR pulls a coup-de-tat, it appears that the inevitable is achieved. It always amused me, to see the great political strengths & acumen of KCR to fight against two of the strongest Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh state, Chandrababu Naidu and Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Despite many strategic blunders, KCR always knew - how to remain on the winning side. While fighting for the Telengana KCR faced many fronts of opponents. First, he was caught at the right time by the Congress leadership in 2004. In the anti-Telugu Desam wave, YSR came to power with absolute majority. It was the first political blow to KCR - though he was on a winning side Government of the time never wanted to deliver the promise of the Telengana state. During the course of this decade, KCR found the most formidable opponent in YS Rajasekhar Reddy. YSR ensured that, KCR was pushed into the the complex web of command structure that eventually stops at 10, Janpath. But, Madam Gandhi at supreme top never expresses her views on the such critical issues. Hence KCR could never define the face of his opponent! As a result, he went on burning his ire on the Andhra and Rayalaseema people who had nothing to do with these political games.
KCR at his best can be described as brash and a maverick. Despite all the cornering during the YSR times, KCR made significant gains. First of all, he successfully reduced Telugu Desam Party [once a party of pride for entire Telugu speaking people] into a non entity in Telengana region. Chandrababu Naidu, never had a clue on how to respond to KCR or the Congress. Having virtually trapped, Chandrababu Naidu due to series of strategic mistakes reduced himself and his party into a non-entity or insignificant political force in the Andhra Pradesh. If KCR is real winner of the 2001-11 decade, the Chandrababu Naidu represents the exact opposite [but for the powerful media support from Eenadu or Andhajyothy he is written off as of now]. Having lost control of his party, that is split vertically into pro- and anti - Telangana groups, as it stands future of TDP is very uncertain at the best, as it will have to counter the raising image and force of YS Jaganmohan Reddy in rest of the state.
To remain undisputed leader and become a face of Telengana Statehood movement is perhaps by far the biggest biggest achievement of KCR. Despite of all the kinds of splits that we have seen with in TDP and Congress and then virtual erosion of Prajarajyam Party in Telengana region, KCR is truly the leader who remains unchallenged when it comes to consolidation of the movement. He could even crush the film glamour of Vijayashanti. This is not a small feat by any measure. First of all, KCR does not have an unconditional media support that Chandrababu or YS Jagan / YSR could enjoy. Secondly, KCR does not come from one of dominant castes (or communities) that control the power of the state. Being a Velama, the political capital that he could inherit or bank up on is very much limited.
Unlike most of the current leaders including YS Jagan who is projected being a mass Leader, KCR comes with a common man touch. He knows the pulse of the people. He speaks their language. He speaks their problems and he speaks with passion and emotions that helps to rejuvenate the masses and rally behind him. That is what happens always let it be, when he lost the elections or when got marginalised by wily Congress and TDP politics. KCR always waited for an opportunity like a Tiger hunting for a deer and then pound on, to throw them into disarray. Until YSR was alive, KCR success was limited. But his ability to survive almost 6 years against all the odds tell the tenacity of his survival skills.
The success of KCR probably could be attributed to the lack of strategic view for all the leaders from Andhra and Rayalaseema region. At the best, Andhra and Rayalaseema is more into a reactive mode as they have shown their strength of power in Dec 2009 following the "miscalculated" announcement by Chidambaram in New Delhi that almost brought the Central Government into the brink of collapse. Despite all the set backs and another ploy by Government of India that resulted in Srikrishna commission to look to the affairs the state, KCR maintained high level of energies. One obvious strength of KCR is his timing. He knows extremely well and perhaps better than any politician in India on - how to take an issue and then convert that into a net gain in the balance sheet. When nothing moves he knows how to remain silent. And while against adversaries - he knew too well about, how to put this opponents into chaos, and finally - he knows how keep his grip on the party despite 10 year long struggle.
It is not known when and if Telengana state would come into existence. But, KCR already ensured the safety of his personal kingdom with his son KT Rama rao or daughter Kavitha and nephew Harish Rao becoming coterie. This is nothing different to Nadamuri / Nara family control of Telugu Desam or puedo Gandhi family control of Congress or Karunanidhi family iron grip over DMK.
For all the survival skills, tenacity, perseverance and political acumen - Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhara Rao is the politician of 2001-2011 decade in Andhra Pradesh. You may like him, or hate him - but you cannot ignore this fragile personality who could shiver Delhi by one fast and bring chill in Hyderabad with one statement.

Why Chiranjeevi & PRP should fight in Telangana?
By elections to 10 seats in Telangana are imminent. Every party is having a game plan. First the "maverick" K Chandrasekhara Rao who forced these elections on Telangana people at first expected no fight in the elections. KCR wanted all those MLA's who were forced out some six months ago to be back in assembly unopposed, got trapped in Congress game plan.
Nizamabad became core to the congress game plan. It was Dharmapuri Srinivas, the PCC President who lost this seat to TRS candidate. With sudden demise of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, D Srinivas lost a golden opportunity. Had he been an MLA, DS would have been Chief Minister. But the choice went for K Rosaiah. Despite all round support from Congress high command Rosaiah is looking vulnerable on all fronts. Congress is not having any alternative and it is not willing to give CM chair to YS Jagan who is still waging wars and battles. To counter Jagan, DS probably is seeing himself as best alternative since he comes from Telangana, a Backward caste leader, and 100% faithful to high command (essentially it means, he does not use his brain for any important decision). Rosaiah qualifies only on the last aspect and hence DS is dreaming of Chief Minister like his other friend neighbouring district, G Venkata Swamy had been dreaming of President of India.
Anyway, getting back to the subject - Telugu Desam & Nara Chandrababu Naidu game plan is different - it wants to nail down TRS and KCR as much as possible. Both Congress and TDP, as far as this election is concerned are at ground zero. Any one contesting in the election will gain if at all, expect TRS which will have to defend it's position. In this game plan, Naidu is trying to kill two birds with one shot. Even if TDP gains couple of seats then, he could control TDP leaders from Telangana and shut their mouths. Secondly it will make TRS defensive.
Now, the last important party is Prajarajyam - and decision from Chiranjeevi. Unlike Congress and TDP, Chiranjeevi took decisive step in going for United Andhra Pradesh. That means, he wanted to keep Andhra Pradesh as a single state without bifurcation. And that includes Telangana. Unlike TDP and Congress leaders he never demeaned Telangana or Telangana people. He is in a unique position. But for some reason, he lacks the game plan and strategy (not first time). While Chiranjeevi is coming to the core issue straight on, Congress and TDP taking contextual stand. For example, if TRS looses 8 seats in the elections -then both TDP and Congress would change the game plan. Immediately they will join Chiranjeevi boat and claim that Telangana sentiment is not as strong (it is import to understand this tone and language).
There is no doubt that Congress came back to power in 2009 only because of Chiranjeevi. He split the votes and that benefited Congress. How many votes PRP would get if it contests in the elections - 0 or 1? Chiru got it's core bank and that would be in thousands. Even if Chirnajeevi does not win the elections, he would not loose. He can claim for the outcome without letting TDP and Congress hijacking all glory. Secondly, Chiranjeevi also proves "active" politician. For someone who had seen many ups and downs in silver screen before becoming a Megastar, Chiranjeevi must of learned of the risks. When he took the riskiest decision to go for United Andhra Pradesh then, Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana matters.
In the end, actions matter than words. Don't miss the action!

Hyderabad Freezone Truth - Heads you Win, Tails I Loose
Telangana politicians are convincing the so called native Telangana region people that, by not making Hyderabad a freezone they would benefit. I have already discussed in my earlier blog that the word local is having a legal definition. This definition is tangentially different to what Telanaga Rastra Samithi (TRS) or Telangana JAC are telling to the Telangana people.
A local according to Government of Andhra Pradesh is:
This could be explained with simple example:
let's say my parents are from Godavari districts. But I studied in Warangal from my Class 6 to SSC because my father was posted there legally by Government of Andhra Pradesh. Then automatically I become local for Zone-V. Since this is in Telangana - I also belong to Telangana. As per the Government GO, if I wanted to apply for JNTU, Kakinanda then I will have to fight in the non local quota. Just because, my parents or ancestors are from Godavari districts does not help me any way. And this is the truth and a fact! Same is a case for a Marathi or Assamese or Bihari who lived in Andhra Pradesh and studied four straight years prior to SSC.
Now, the issue of Hyderabad and Freezone. Andhra Pradesh is divided into 7 zones. Of them, Hyderabad and Secunderabad city metro area are part of Zone 7, commonly called Free Zone. While, any individual could compete in his / her zone as local - all the zone people could compete freely (as locals) for the Free zone. This will NOT have great advantage for the following Telangana zone people since they are competing with rest of all Andhra Pradesh:
(V) ADILABAD, KARIMNAGAR, WARANGAL & KHAMMAM
(VI) HYDERABAD, RANGAREDDY, NIZAMABAD, MAHABUBNAGAR, MEDAK & NALGONDA
But this is only half truth
Now, Telangana leaders wanted to remove Hyderabad as Freezone and accordingly Andhra Pradesh Government passed a "hasty" resolution in state assembly last week.
If this becomes a law, the following are the real consequences:
1. Hyderabad City will merge into Zone VI. As a result, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Medak & Nalgonda will become locals to this Zone VI.
2. Then, all those locals of Hyderabad city would become locals for all the districts mentioned above. Until now they are non local for Zone VI.
3. Zone-V people of Telangana would be still non locals for Hyderabad City and hence they will have to fight in the non local category along with rest of the Andhra Pradesh people from Zone-1 to Zone-IV. But 70%-80% are for the locals in Zone VI, that are 100% open for all until it is freezone
4. Hyderabad is having huge number of Andhra and Rayalaseema people. These people will be officially and automatically become locals for all the Zone-VI. Until now they are non locals
5. With better education facilities, and as alleged by Telangana politicians being "clever", these people can now take more jobs in Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Medak & Nalgonda districts. These are the districts, Andhra and Rayalaseema people presence is not significant except in Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar borders.
6. Muslims being in large numbers in Hyderabad may benefit on paper but in reality they have to compete with these clever Telugu speaking folks of Zone VI.
7. Overall, all it is Andhra and Rayalaseema local people of Hyderabad would benefit by not making Hyderabad a freezone. It will further benefit them from expanding their reach.
It is too late to talk of all this local and non local concept that is three decades old.
Andhra and Rayalaseema people are integral part of Telangana System and even if Telangana were to come, it is those people who are capable and willing to take risks will win.
All those Telangana people who are blindly going behind their politicians have to realise one important point. There are no reservations for Telangana people who went to US, UK, Australia or elsewhere in India and become hugely successful. Please follow those hero's footsteps and compete on true merits.
Heads you Win (Andhra and Raylaseema) - Tails I Loose (Telangana)!
A local according to Government of Andhra Pradesh is:
A Local candidate means a candidate for direct recruitment to any post in relation to that local area where he/she has studied in educational institution(s) for not less than four consecutive academic years in a total period of seven years of study prior to and including the year in which he/she appeared for S.S.C. or its equivalent examination. If however, he/she has not studied in any educational institutions during the above four years period it is enough if he/she has resided in that area which is claimed as his/her local area during the above said period.
This could be explained with simple example:

Truth about Andhra & Telangana vs Local & Non locals
Who is local and who is non local in Telangana or for that matter in Andhra Pradesh? Telangana people think all Andhra and Rayalaseema people irrespective of their domicile status are non local. For example as rule of thumb - all those people living in Ameerpet, Kukatpally or SR Nagar areas of Hyderabad are non local. When Honourable Kalvalkuntla Chandrasekhar Rao gets charged, his target group are those people who have been living in and around Hyderabad for the past four or five decades.
KCR also coined a jargon called Settlers. According to him all those people who have been moved to Hyderabad since 1956 when Andhra Pradesh state was formed are Settlers.
We have seen Mulkis, gentlemen agreements, six point formula or GO 610 and Go 399 all moving in the direction of protecting the native Telangana people. And there is too much of confusion basically created on false facts and accusations.
We have to understand two key words. First Telangana people. These people been living in the erstwhile Nizam state for centuries. There is no acceptable and official definition for this group. These people linguistically include Marathis, Kannadigas and then Muslims, North Indians, perhaps Arabs and Persians. Secondly, local and non local is more recent definition. This definition is more pertinent and current since it has been issued as Presidential order in 1975. This is the basis for the Government of Andhra Pradesh recruitment framework.
Now, all those who are in hurry to get a Telangana state are twisting the facts for their own benefit. In this process they started accusing the genuine local people as settlers and then terrorising those communities with false accusations.
Let's go into facts. In 1975, Government of Andhra Pradesh organised that state into 7 zones. These are:
(ZONES) DISTRICTS
(I) SRIKAKULAM, VIZIANAGARAM & VISAKHAPATNAM
(II) EAST GODAVARI, WEST GODAVARI & KRISHNA
(III) GUNTUR, PRAKASAM & NELLORE
(IV) CHITTOOR, CUDDAPAH, ANANTHAPUR & KURNOOL
(V) ADILABAD, KARIMNAGAR, WARANGAL & KHAMMAM
(VI) HYDERABAD, RANGAREDDY, NIZAMABAD, MAHABUBNAGAR, MEDAK & NALGONDA
(VII) ALL AREAS COMING UNDER HYDERABAD AND SECUNDERABAD CITY.
And then, there is clear definition on who will be local or non local. The criteria for identifying an individual as local or non local is nothing to do with his or her parents ancestry.
And here is the definition according to APPSC or EAMCET:
According to the GO, a Local candidate means a candidate for direct recruitment to any post in relation to that local area where he/she has studied in educational institution(s) for not less than four consecutive academic years in a total period of seven years of study prior to and including the year in which he/she appeared for S.S.C. or its equivalent examination. If however, he/she has not studied in any educational institutions during the above four years period it is enough if he/she has resided in that area which is claimed as his/her local area during the above said period.
Accordingly, since 1975 this GO has been basis for the selection into Government jobs or Colleges. What it tells is, let's say my parents are from Godavari districts.
But these people who are officially are locals - are settlers (and looters) according to KCR or his supporters or his intellectual brains. Here, by twisting the facts - Telangana intellectuals are running false campaign on historic mistakes that took place between 1956 and 1969 on account of Mulki rules violation. By mixing up the some historic injustices (yes, there were and we have GO 610 or GO 399), KCR or Kodandaram (Reddy) are trying to make generations of people who were living in Hyderabad or Telangana feel insecure by irresponsible statements like "à°†ంà°¦్à°°ాà°µోà°³్ళని తరిà°®ి à°•ొà°¡à°¤ాం"
Today Telangana people may think that they are going to benefit by making Hyderabad not as a free zone. As a matter of fact, it is going to help the locals of Hyderabad. And these locals could be anyone who satisfy the official definition. According to KCR and team most of the colonies in and around Hyderabad metro area are occupied by "Andhra settlers". But as per the government rules - these are the people who will benefit, since these are locals for Zone VI. By having a free zone, all those in Zone - V and Zone -VI (from Telangana) would have benefited. But not anymore!.
Today the very KCR, again stabbed all those innocent Telangana people by not having any representation in the Assembly when the resolution to include Hyderabad in Zone VI was passed.
Clever stuff! or is it again a "stupid" strategy of KCR and his team?
KCR also coined a jargon called Settlers. According to him all those people who have been moved to Hyderabad since 1956 when Andhra Pradesh state was formed are Settlers.
We have seen Mulkis, gentlemen agreements, six point formula or GO 610 and Go 399 all moving in the direction of protecting the native Telangana people. And there is too much of confusion basically created on false facts and accusations.

Does IPL know more than AP Government?
Indian Premier League is a great money spinner. And Hyderabad is a city of cricket maniacs. When IPL decided to shift their matches out of Hyderabad, AP's namesake Chief Minister started pushing panic buttons. IPL knew it's decision would be a huge financial loss and Rosaiah knew, it would tarnish the state image even further - since IPL is joining host of other IT companies and businesses those have started looking elsewhere.
Rosaiah spoke to everyone in IPL and promised all the help from Andhra Pradesh state government including personal assurances on security in Hyderabad. This may look herculean commitment from a very weak Chief Minister who is not in a position to control, his own party MLA's and for the that matter, his own cabinet.
Did IPL knew that Rosaiah cannot offer an environment to conduct the IPL matches based on his track record? Even if it is partially true, IPL is more worried about the "political mafia" in the state who are now taking money for running small businesses to releasing Tollywood movies in the Telanaga state.
I think IPL are worried more about those three (KCR, his daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha and Harish Rao), who could take away the "profits" from IPL and just leave them with the "agony" and the game.
Isn't it the case here that IPL did not get any positive assurance from the "those three", and hence decided to move away from Hyderabad? Unlike Tollywood, IPL played safe. IPL decision is an important example, how we have two parallel authorities in the state. A government does not work and a "political mafia" that can seemingly make anything happen.
God please save Andhra Pradesh!

Save Andhra Pradesh - failed democracy
Andhra Pradesh is on the verge of burning again. This time with the announcement of the Terms of Reference for the Justice Srikrishna commission. Since the sad demise of YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Sep'09 there is no stopping for the troubles in the state. Both the Government and the opposition have failed to deliver to the people. One man, K Chandrasekhara Rao took the state for ransom. In the end, it is the people of the state have been suffering. Number of innocent people and some of them been students committed suicides. Scores of business establishments have been ransacked for one reason or other. State road transport corporation (APSTRC) lost crores of rupees due to random and public fury. There is no freedom of speech for the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema region. They are seen as traitors and settlers in their own land. Tollywood cannot screen their films in the Telangana Region with out the ransom payments to KCR family or without the implicit support of his daughter or son or nephew Harish Rao.
Where this state is heading? We have a Chief minister called Rosaiah, who is threatened by his own cabinet minister yet, CM cannot do anything. No one listens to him. And when he speaks no one understands. We have a opposition leader in Chandrababu Naidu never seen raising up to the occasion and taking a stand on the suffering of people in the state. With the huge leadership vacuum after YSR death this canny politician would have guided the state but for his vested interests. We have now so many "gally" leaders we think they can do anything in the state without fear.
Universities have become sanctuary for the violent agitations across the state. Students cannot study for the exams. Professors like Kodandaram have become leaders overnight. These professors threten the people, politicians and anything. Caste and religion are again showing colours. Muslims in the state until now remained nonchalant have started entering the scene. The dalits vs upper caste supremacy is sprouting once again.
Government treasury is now getting empty. All promises are now turning empty. Businesses are looking elsewhere - safe destinations.
Impose President rule and give charge to ESL Narasimhan, Governor of the state. When democracy becomes a mockery there is no option but to impose dictatorship in public interest.

Forget Telangana state for now
The extreme heat that pushed Andhra Pradesh state into chaos in December is slowly going down. While most of Andhra and Rayalaseema is quiet by and large, the few tremors are seen in Telangana region. The JAC in either regions is loosing support. As everything is seems to be coming to normal, now we seeing K Chandrasekhara Rao re-entry and his comic statements as well.
Congress high command did excellent job. Slowly Government of India moved in the direction of forming a committee to "look and understand the state of affairs in Andhra Pradesh". Justice Srikrishna credibility is a big plus point for the committee even though no terms and references have been given. Nor any time frame has been stipulated.
Now, where we are - I think Telanagana state is still a dream as it was in 1969. Let me explain my thoughts:
1. Justice Srikrishna commission is a simply a fact finding commission. It will restate the fact that there is strong support for Unified Andhra Pradesh in Coastal and Rayalaseema regions and significant support for Telangana in north Telangana and feeble support in and around Hyderabad metro area and south Telangana
2. The report when it comes out, will be nothing but putting all the chaotic feelings in orderly manner
3. Based on the split support, and having seen the voluntary public revolt in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions any decision for Telangana will be met with strong resistance
4. At the same time a status quo will ignite troubles in Telanaga region.
5. The decision on Telangana can be taken only in the Congress party national interest. With lesser Loksabha seats in the Telangana region Congress cannot risk loosing significant number of MPs in Andhra region.
6. Hence as it is done during the last two elections, Telangana will be in Congress agenda for 2014 (or manifesto).
7. If BJP fortunes return for good, then 2014 elections would be a close call. In the case, it AP will be all the more critical for Congress party success.
8. 2014, will see the raise of Telugu Desam party. With this hopeless congress government, I wonder if congress would get the third time lucky. If TDP will return to power is a billion dollar question at this moment, ofcourse.
9. If TDP comes to power in 2014, Chandrababu Naidu will crush the Telangana movement even if BJP regain power. Even otherwise, Babu will not allow bifurcation of the state
10. With so much of stake at Centre and state, Congress will play safe and put the Telangana state in suspended animation.
Like BSE index will see, some bear rallies in coming months and in the end, Telangana will remain a distant dream at least until 2014

Is it the end of Telangana state?
Any mass moved would sustain, as long as the emotions are sustained at the highest level. As a famous saying goes, "public memory is poor" and once the emotions are discharged - public memory fades rapidly. At this moment reality would kickin to public, and to the common man who suffered the worst. The real hardships of daily living becomes a naked truth. Earning daily wages, feeding the family and paying the rent. Sending children to the schools or paying their fees. These will not stop for anything including a seamingly genuine struggle.
Between 9th Dec 09 and 5th Jan 2010 the Andhra Pradesh experienced the worst of times for generations. There was no government per se. There was no administration. Police remained spectators. Politicians cutting across all the parties and regions contributed to the chaos.
Common man was charged emotionally to zenith. Suddenly "God" was seen in K Chandrasekhar Rao. He was prepared to die. Die for the cause of Telangana people. Telangana causes. When God's and daemons land on the earth, we have seen what would happen. The state was put for ransom.
Suddenly my neighbour from Andhra became my number one enemy. It was like watching Gadar movie - but just short of killing seen between Hindu's and Muslims. Some one said we are like brothers. There was nothing wrong dividing like true brothers. But we have two mothers!
The traditional drama stage at Ravindra Bharathi shifted to NIMS. Genuine patients and lives were put at risk.
First Andhra and Rayalaseema MLA's and MP's tendered their resignations. But Speaker did not accept. Then Telangana MLA's and MP's did the same and again speaker did not accept. The ministers from both sides resigned publicly. Again Chief Minister did not accept them. All the MLA's, MP's and Ministers are now back to their "daily jobs". Often muttering, again about Telangana and United Andhra Pradesh albeit with low intensity. Like common man, they also realised the hardships in their daily lives. The loss of daily earnings!
New Year came. All MP's / MLA's / Ministers made resolutions. They wanted to die for their people. Given ultimatum to Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. If the decision on Telengana was not taken on 5th Jan 2010, everyone said - sacrifice is the only answer.
From the December fasting month, we are now come down to the threats. Threat to die - die for the people.
Then came the 6th Jan 2010. Suddenly everything changed. We haven't seen any sacrificies till now. KCR, became silent. Asked for the peace and calm. The students at all universities were amused. While at Delhi, "God" came to KCR with boons and KCR could not refuse. Suddenly our "God" is not seen in public. Like Lord Venkateswara of Tirupathi, this God also went behind seven hills into the elite Banajara Hills in Hyderabad( or Tuglak Road in Delhi). He would meet very few. Talk to few. Only special darshans and no more public apprearance.
Sankranti came and gone. We still hear occasional outbursts. Chandrababu Naidu will send "God" to all those vocal supporters. Congress high command will send "God" to their vocal supporters. "God" will bestow all the boons. Most would be satisfied. And now they talk of development and a parallel movement for Telanaga.
"God" did not come to common man. As usual he would never come to them. Even to see those people who innocently sacrificed their lives. "God" did not come to Osmania and Kakatiya University Students to give "boons". Probably "God" may never visit them to bestow boons. Because, they - the students think they are beyond "God" and boons.
For sometime to come, we will see emotions like after shocks from a big tremors.
The Third Telangana battle has effectively come to an end on 5th Jan 2010 in Delhi. If in the first and second Telagana battles - YS Rajasekhar Reddy defeated K Chandrasekhar Rao with great effort, in the third battle KCR successfully defeated himself. Yet, the common man and a University student still think their "God" KCR will get them the state of Telangana. All these people hope one day the movement will be back with full force. KCR also knows, when the energy and strength from the boons wane, the only way to see "God" again is through this Telangana, Common man and the Students. Until then he will be busy with strategies.
God, please give some wisdom to all those who have really suffered and sacrificied their precious lives - not boons!

Response to 108 facts on Telengana
Some of the Telengana people have done excellent work in putting forward the strong reasons why and how Telengana people, their culture have been marginalised since 1956. Some of the internet blogs are really worth a look for example: http://www.lazydesis.com/political-news/144088-108-facts-about-telangana-need-justification.html. This listing is available at many places on internet and it is not possible to get the name of original author who prepared the listing. These 108 reasons explain why and how Telengana people have been discriminated since 1956 on all fronts including social, political, economic and administrative fronts by dominating Andhra people, leaders and their culture.
Though I do not want to agree for all of the reasons (due to some of the numbers- and the lack of independent authentication), I tend to believe that the Telengana guys are doing excellent job by bringing the facts forward. And reasoning well, why a seperate state is needed as soon as possible.
But Telengana community failed to address how the Andhra and Rayalaseema people have helped to build the state, culture and restore the pride.
1. Assuming that 90% of these reasons are contextually correct, the fact still remains that Telengana politicians have failed for their citizens since 1956. All these erstwhile landlords turned politicians have only become richer since the formation of the state by making their own people poor. How far it is fair to blame Andhra leaders and Andhra people?
2. If Anjaiah, then the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was publicly humiliated by Rajiv Gandhi, is it not NT Ramarao stood up and shown the pride of Telugu people across the word?
3. Now a days, there is a criticism that the Telengana Literature and Telengana intellectuals are not getting right place for their contributions. Does any one remember pre-1983, till NT Rama rao came to power, the plight of Telugu language in Hyderabad? If you speak in Telugu in public you were looked down? And suddenly after 50 years our friends are talking about recognition!
4. Did any one have guts to speak about Telugu during the Nizam rule of Hyderabad state? Did you not learn the Urdu and lived with that for 175 years!
5. If NT Rama Rao, YS Rajasekhara Reddy or N Chandrababu Naidu were selfish towards their regions - then why all these three slogged to bring international fame to Hyderabad at the cost of Andhra or Rayalaseema Regions?
6. Y S Rajaskhar Reddy while he was CM, when took steps for the Kadapa district development - all these Andhra dominated news papers like Andhra Joythy and Eenadu cried so much for his favouritism.
8. Did anyone say negetive when Vengal Rao developed Khammam district?
9. Is is not their own Telengana People who have driven PV Narasimha Rao to Ramtek from Hanmakonda?
10. What happened to Telengana Pride when PV was humiliated even in his death?
11. Is it not, NT Ramarao and Rayalaseema people who welcomed and given PV Narsimha Rao a great victory from Nandyal?
12. Why did YS Rajasekhar Reddy or Daggubati Purandeswari allocated IIT to Medak instead of Kadapa or Visakhapatnam?
13. It is not with Telengana money that Godavari or Krishna barrages at Rajahmundry or Vijayawada have been built?
14. What the MP's and MLA's for the Nalgonda or Mahboobnagar districts have been doing since 1956?
15. Instead of foul mouthing Y S Rajasekhar Reddy all time, did Nagam Janardhan Reddy anytime bothered looking at problems of Mahaboobnagar. Nagam is more worried about Gali Brothers in Ananthapur or Idupulapaya in Kadapa?
16. What did Jaipal Reddy do to Nalgonda district depsite being in the highly powerful position in Government of India for many years? Jaipal only knows how to switch the political parties and stick to power!
17. Why did Jeevan Reddy contest against K Chandra Sekhar Rao and now going with KCR and using his foul mouth? When did he realise the injustices to Telengana? After YSR death or after smelling the opportunity for power?
18. Yes, Potti Sriramulu is not connected with Telengana. But, I born and studied in all my school that Andhra Pradesh is single state and Hyderabad is the capital of the Telugus. Do you want me to study the previous history and say that Hyderabad state belongs to Muslims?
19. When did K Chandrasekhar Rao realise that injustices have been done to Telengana? After enjoying all the power and emassing the wealth?
20. Is it not NT Rama Rao gave K Chandrasekhar Rao and all those BC leaders from Telengana a political life. Where you would have been otherwise? Still getting crushed under the Telengana doralu (landlords)
21. Where is Konda Surekha without Y S Rajasekhar Reddy? She was politically nothing until a decade ago
22. What did Ponnala Laxmaiah do to Telengana Irrigation issues? Did he ever speak in Assembly or Cabinet?
23. OK, may most of the lands around Hyderabad are owned by Andhra people? Is it not a fact that all those local people who could not do anything with those lands became super rich overnight? Are they not driving Honda's and Benz cars?
24. Is it not Andhra and Rayalaseema people whole heartedly supported Telengana movement and provided all the help? Andhra People may be clever according to Telengana people but they did not have vision to see that Hyderabad and IT boom 50 years down the line!
25. If Viswanatha Satyanaryana got Jnanpeeth award, even eminent and well respected Dr C Narayana Reddy was given the same award. Could any one say if some is better or some is less?
26. If Tikkana came from Nellore, Nannayya came from Rajahmundry, Pothana came from Warangal. Can any one say if one is better than other? If any one dare to, it is only to show their ignorance?
27. Ramadasu came from Bhadrachalam (Khammam district) and Annamayya came from Kadapa. Is it not all Telugu people listen to melodies of these two every day? Did any Telengana people did not want to listen or see the Annamayya movie?
28. Before criticizing Kasu Brahmananda Reddy how he handled 1969 issues, it is good to remember that Nizam and Razakars have massacared scores of innocent people in the erstwhile Nizam state. How could K Chandrasekhar Rao praise Nizam and his establishment?
29. Well, from 1948 to 1956 - the Hyderabad state history is not mentioned mostly in schools. But, who is at fault? How many Education ministers came from Telengana? Is there any evidence to prove that Andhra or Rayalaseema people or leaders had a conspiracy?
30. Is it fair to have the NIT at Warangal and IIT at Medak, when Andhra and Rayalaseema do not have a single National Institute? Did any one from Andhra or Rayalaseema made it an issue? Then why are you bothered about two JNTU's in Rayalaseema?
31. Irrigation and in justice? Last two decades, both major and minor irrigation ministries are handled by Telengana leaders. It is Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Kadiyam Srihari in TDP Government and Ponnala Laxmaiah and Sunitha Lakshma Reddy. All are from Telengana! And did not do anything to Telengana for the last two decades. Did they ever differ with Chandrababu Naidu or YS Rajasekhar Reddy on Telengana development? No.
32. What is the track record of K Chandrasekhar Rao? Did he do any development to any of the constituency that he flip flopped all across Telengana? It does not need rocket science knowledge to know what he would do in future!
33. Is it not Manmohan Singh fed up with KCR's inefficiency when he was federal minister? Did he do anything to Telengana while he was Union Labour minister to Telengana or Telengana people? No.
34. How KCR emassed so much of wealth from an Immigration broker to become on of the wealthy persons in the state? (Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalvakuntla_Chandrashekar_Rao). How many people this Dubai Chandrasekhar cheated to accumulate this wealth?
35. If Ambedkar wanted Hyderabad to be second capital of India - all Telugu people will be happy and feel proud. But, who stopped it? Not Andhra or Rayalaseema people.
36. Is Jaipal Reddy sleeping all these decades having born in Mahaboobnagar district and representing Kalwakurthi as MLA for four terms? or enjoying the plight of poor people? What way Andhra or Rayalaseema people are resposible for the flight of poor people? Who stopped building irrigation systems to utilize the Krishna waters in the district? How many MLA's and MP's did these people sent to Hyderabad and New Delhi?
37. Andhra or Rayalaseema people have nothing to with the closure of Ramagundam Fertilizer factory. It was due to plant operational inefficiencies. Then that big man from Telengana "Kaka" Venkataswamy was doing? If he spent more time on these issues than on Presidential dreams - something could have been done
38. What is KK (K Keshava Rao's) track record? He never won a single direct election nor served the people of Telengana. Now this "fickle" minded "leader" wanted to do something for Telengana. Go to his official website (http://164.100.24.167:8080/members/website/Mainweb.asp?mpcode=1998). No great track record even in Delhi?
39. Lesser the said about V Hanumantha Rao is good for Telengana people. He is the best mate of KK during all his political career. Cannot even win at Amberpet (his home) where most of the people are not from Andhra or Rayalaseema. His home at Delhi is 11, Janpath and hence he always speaks for Madam but not for people.
40. Andhra and Rayalaseema people are not responsible for the Naxalite problems in Telengana. What Chevella Chellamma, Sabitha Indra Reddy is doing being Home Minister? What did Jana Reddy do for the Telengana being the Home Minister earlier?
41. Did Telengana merged with Andhra forcefully? Is it not a merger after passing resolution in the Hyderabad state assembly?
42. Let's agree that Nizam was richest man in the world but his citizens were very poor.
43. Many Goverment Milk plants in Andhra also have been closed thanks to Chandrababu Naidu. Hence it was not just Telengana faced the problems.
44. Why Andhra region was never industrialised like Telengana by Andhra and Rayalaseema leaders?
45. Unfortunately AP government GO's do not apply for IAS or IPS and other central services.
46. Even in Bangalore, Kannadigas are minority. It is Tamils and Telugu's who dominate the work force all across. How did this happen? Tamil's and Telugu's or Malayalees were willing to move for greener pastures and earlier -Kannadigas did not want to move even from Mysore to Bangalore? Hence they lost all those jobs to outsiders.
47. Are you willing to agree if Muslims being the "natives" of Hyderabad for centuries, and if they ask for a seperate state for Muslims with Hyderabad, Rangareddi, Nizamabad and Karimnagar? They will have the same reasons as you are saying now - like robbers and thugs?
48. Is it not true that Telengana, Andhra and Rayalaseema people killed the "lazy Nawabi" culture of Hyderabad?
49. Will you support North Karnataka and Marthwada a seperate states as they were with you until 1956 as part of Hyderabad state?
50. On your own admission, If more than 90% of the colonies are occupied by Seemandhra people, it is not fair to say that Telengana people are a minority in the Hyderabad metro City area?
51. Do you know how many kaka's, DK's and KK's from Telengana have become filthy rich like Seemandhra leaders and at the expense of common man? How did Dubai Chandrasekhar earn so much of wealth?
52. Agreed, Lagadapati Rajagopal had some controversies with his business and accumulated wealth. How much did Madu Yaskhi Goud earn? What did he do to Nizamabad since he became MP except fighting with YSR and Lagadapati.
53. Rosaiah cannot speak for United Andhra Pradesh but the D Srinivas, can speak for Telengana. Whom do you want to fool? What stops a Chief Minister representing a state to talk for the state?
54. As per the The Hindu article (http://www.hindu.com/mag/2005/12/18/stories/2005121800150200.htm) The paddy boom was such that as many as 50 rice mills came up at Miryalaguda, the largest number at any single place in Asia.
55. Now some Telengana people are saying that Telengana is nothing to do with Potti Sriramulu. And he fought for the liberation of Andhra and Rayalaseema from Tamils / Madras state. OK, there is no evidence that Mahatma Gandhi ever fought for the Hyderabad state liberation from Nizam. Actually, Gandhi did fight against British only. So, how Gandhi can be connected to Telengana and revered? Do not twist the facts. Potti Sriramulu was soldier who died for the Telugu people indentity.
56. I can tell many Telengana names who live in the Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills. Do not try to protray that all Telengana people are poor. Nama Venkateswara Rao for example is the richest MP in the state. Where is Khammam? Not in Telnagana?
57. Can you tell for sure that none of the Telangana businessmen or Politicians took away the WAKF lands in Hyderabad or Telengana? Look this link: http://www.indianmuslims.info/node/80791 and tells what YS Rajasekhar Reddy did to return the lands. And see this http://www.twocircles.net/2009jun24/compensation_demanded_prime_waqf_land_visakhapatnam.html, such lands have gone similarly in Visakhapatnam as well. Finally, according to this link http://www.anindianmuslim.com/2009/08/should-waqf-boards-be-disbanded-in.html, Andhra Pradesh is the best in India to protect the Wakf lands. And the main problem is, those Walf caretakers are the real culprits. Power does not know the religion? What do you say about the 100's of thousands of Temple lands in entire Andhra Pradesh that have gone into the hands of enchroachers. So, do not link Religion with this issue.
58. You say 150 odd forts in Telangana have been delapidated and not maintained. OK, could tell us which Andhra fort was taken care well by Andhra Pradesh Government? Bobbili fort has gone and so many. But, you see infront of you how Golconda is protected and developed. Suddenly you remember the culture and say Andhra and Rayalaseema people have even ruined little cared and unknown forts that yourselves do not know. Could you tell me the list of those 150? I would like to visit them in my next visit to India
59. Hyderabad Central Univeristy - does it have any reservations for the Andhra People? This Central university is a national university, serving certain objectives. Go to this link http://www.uohyd.ernet.in/ and see the ticker on the university objectives. It does not talk about Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. Compete man! Go to BITS, Pilani or IIT, Chennai - there also you will see mostly Andhra students and facutly. Ask all those bright Telangana students who are robbing the Rajasthani or Tamil opportunities to come back to Karimnagar or Adilabad.
60. Telugu film industry. Yes, it is dominated by Andhra (or for that matter few communities). But if some one got a talent, one can stop them. Prakash Raj the top star in Tollywood is not even from Andhra Pradesh. From where Shayaji Shinde came from? None of the present day Tollywood heroines are from Andhra Pradesh. This is millions of dollars worth business and do not expect reservations. Dubai Chandrasekar - is giving free entertainment on par with Brahmanandam. Enjoy!
61. Telagana accent and comedy in Telugu movies. Even the so called educated and cultured Brahmins, in Tollywood movies are projected as comic characters. Do you want Brahmins to ask for a seperate district if not a state? If it is cultural norm - change it. Do you know Sardarji jokes? They brilliant people on the earth. Do not ask for a seperate state just because of a 5 minute comic scenes in Tollywood movies. I am happy to see Uttej in the movies and I do not think he is demeaning anything.
62. Do you know how many decades it to start Polavaram Project? Do not come to conclusion that it is a cake walk to start a project in Andhra. How many lives and man years have been lost for the Visakhapatnam steel plant- do you know? Did any one die for an industry in Telengana since 1956? Even without asking you get IIT or IIIT or anything!
63. Flourosis in Nalgonda. I agree that Nalgonda is having a problem. But, do not say it is just Nalgonda having problem in entire Andhra Pradesh. According to http://www.fluorosisinandhra.org/fluorosisinap_page.htm, there are as many districts in AP suffer from this problem. Prakasam district is having same level of problems as Nalgonda. This problem is nothing to do with Andhra or Rayalaseema people. This is an adminstrative problem. All the Collectors of these districts, if they were forced to drink the same water as villagers, then this problem would have solved in 1956 itself.
64. Bonalu, Batukamma and Andhra people reluctance to understand. How many of you Telengana guys in US, Europe or Australia being citizens of those countries adapted the local culture and undestood and integrated with the local communities. I am telling you - Zero. Still all these guys want their own culture, and create ghettos to live in their world. First ask all those Telengana people to forget their culture and adapt to the foreigh culture? But you need dollars and Euro, and hang on there by hook or crook!
65. What effort did Telangana people made to understand Andhra or Rayalaseema culture? Do you know the culture of Srikakulam? Why should I know, when it is not in my way of life?
66. Hyderabad is not a Kashimir for Andhra people as it is for Pakistan. Do not get too emotional. My son is born there, so my nephew and my niece. I studied here and worked in Hyderabad. If my Father came to Telengana, so is Dubai Chandrasekhar's grand father or KK's great grand father. All Andhra and Rayalaseema people have right to live in Hyderabad or Nizamabad.
67. Do not show over enthusiam to prove something incorrect See this http://www.jstor.org/pss/4362030. As a matter of fact Mulki's came to protect primarily the Telengana people from the Northern Indians or Hindustanis. Do you know the Karnakaka and Maratha people of Hyderbad state ever had the benefit of Mulki once they were merged into respective states? See this link http://telanganautsav.wordpress.com/2009/10/27/mulki-rules-movement-in-hyderabad-karnataka/ and according to them, Telengana people are fortunate. How perceptions change amonst the cousins!
68. How hungry are you guys? Not satisfied with so many big universities- you also want, Health University at Vijayawada or Mahila University at Tirupathi also to be moved to Hyderabad? Then you blame, Andhra and Rayalaseema people are taking away your jobs?
69. Andhra Controlled Media? Who made Dubai Chandrasekhar a hero? Is not this Andhra Controlled media? He was not willing to contest an election & lost his face in public but, overnight he was made a hero by Andhra controlled media. Yes, this media is the real culprit for all the problems we have today.
70. Telagana Sayudha Poratam inspired the West Bengal, Kerala and Tripura and paved way for formation of Communist governments in those States. Excellent? So you want to pass the baton to Annalu (Naxalites who are sitting in the forests and universities) and seek their inspiration to join the insurgency movement to destabilise India further. You know where WB, Kerala and Tripura are today and their standing vis-a-vis Gujarat, Tamil Nadu or Karnataka! Wake up - China is NOT a communist country anymore. Seek positive inspiration.
71. Did you ever read Rachakonda Vishwanatha Sastri novels? He is considered, perhaps one of the greatest authors from (North Coastal) Andhra Pradesh. I tried to read, but I could not understand. The reason being, he writes in colloquial Telugu of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. Hard to read and hard to understand flow. I tried and found the same complexity with Kaloji Narayana Rao. And never attempted to read Viswanatha Satyanarayana. All these people are great. On writes in classical Telugu and other in colloquial. This is called diversity. Do you know the German spoken in Bavaria is so different and heavy that even the native Germans cannot understand easily. Instead of demeaning yourselves, try to enrich and motivate other people to read. Shouting and howling won't do much. Did any one force you to read Sri Sri Mahaprastanam? Be proud of Telengana Telugu accent!
72. Life won't end by singing in Telangana song or garlanding Telanga Talli. Would any one dare to open a Telanga Telugu medium school and send their children to those schools? I challenge that not even Dubai Chandrasekhar will send his grand child!
73. Why K Chandrasekhar Rao lives in Banjara Hills amongst the Andhra and Rayalaseema rich people? Please ask him to lead by example and go and live in Dhool pet (http://164.100.47.132/LssNew/Members/Biography.aspx?mpsno=4083) and show solidarity. Incidentally, his home at New Delhi is in Tughlaq Road. What a coincidence!
74. Suddenly few Telengana "fantics" have become agressive and exprssing feelings that Nizam and his rule was better than Andhra people and their company. Great guys! I wonder, why you did not support the Nizam proposal to join Pakistan than India or remain independent nation. You may forgive your enemies but do not forget their names.
75. Hyderabad and natural growth? Well, everybody knows the situation of Hyderabad and the reputation till 1983. Do you think that Microsoft or Infosys or HSBC have come to Hyderabad seeing the lobbying of Dubai Chandrasekhar? It is hard slog of two Chief Ministers for more than 2 decades. Tell me how many Telangana leaders have participated in buidling "Brand Andhra Pradesh" or "Brand Andhra"? None
76. If you think Andhra people are thugs or robberers - get ready, the Dubai Chandrasekhar from Bobbili or KK from Machilipatman will strip you guys naked in public even without your knowledge
77. Do you know how many districts in Andhra and Rayalaseema did not have a major industry? And yet, you call West Godavari a developed district than Karimnagar District.
78. Do you have Mulkis implemented in the Karnatak and Marthwada parts of the erstwhile Hyderabad state when they were demerged in 1956? Why it is so unique for Andhra Pradesh only. If you tell a lie repeatedly do not think it would be truth. Stop calling Andhra people cunning, clever or arrogant. These are perceptions.
79. Telengana peasant rule! What way Andhra people are connected with the cruelity of the Telangana landlords to their own people. See this http://cssaame.dukejournals.org/cgi/pdf_extract/4/1/1 and is it not true that all these people have been marginalized after 1956? Why did PV Narasimha Rao lost him Chief Ministership. Was it not, he wanted to implement land ceiling act and the Telangana landlords siezed him?
80. Read this http://jabilli.wordpress.com/ for some of the answers to 108. Do not make shocking statements like not a single acre of land was not submerged in Guntur while thousands were lost in Nalgonda district (Actually I did realise just now that some had made responses even bigger than 108, to bring forward the truth)
More will be added in coming days

AP Elections 2009:::Who will be the Winner?
We are almost there -- ready to put the ballot and give verdict. All the major parties are now in the last stages of smear campaign. All the news papers (Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy or Sakshi) aligned to the respective political outfits are making their own last minute "stories" to demoralise the opposition parties or taking the winner flag for their patrons.
Andhra Pradesh voters are neither naive nor innocent. These voters have grown smarter since 1997 when they made a "canny" mistake of voting for Indira Gandhi while whole country went enmasse and voted for the Janata Party. But, two years down the line, it is Andhra Pradesh voters who proved smarter as Janata Party send the nation into serious political crisis. Perhaps the vision of the state voters when it comes to stability cannot be underestimated.
When to pick up NT Rama Rao or ditch chandra Babu Naidu or welcome Rajasekhar Reddy is known to the voters in the state.
Now that we are at the closing stages of the campaign, most of the voters have made up their mind for the ballot. How do the voters decide and vote? At a very crude level, it is caste and religion plays the role. Surprising it is the Hyderabad area that generally decides on the religious lines than anywhere in the state. Muslim voters always go and vote for Majlis - for security and protection rather than any other significant factor. Their natural political enemy is BJP. But, today BJP lacks a strong leadership who could secure the Hindu voters. Perhaps this election is now bringing the new agena - Telengana when the old city Muslim friends go for vote. For them, today surprisingly Congress is the saviour than anyother party since it is not in favour of Telengana and Majlis and Muslims do not want a seperate state. Also, with huge Coastal Andhra / Rayalaseema Voters- Telengana sentiment is not going to work for any winner in Hyderabad Metro area. Clearly the winner will be Congress and Majlis. Unfortunately for Chandra Babu Naidu and TDP it is a double blow. First, CBN is now with Mahakootami and in favour of Telengana. Secondly, top leaders in this area like Davender Goud have deserted the party.
Coastal Andhra is now the swing region and perhaps going to decide the next Chief Minister. The main problem is - deep troubles with in the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP). It is always expected that - PRP and Chiranjeevi is going to very well in East and West Godavari districts with huge Kapu vote bank and also "son of the soil" sentiment. But, PRP is today facing self inflicted wounds as host of leaders are leaving the party - abusing Chiranjeevi and Allu Aravind - of Nepotism, Corruption and favoutitism. This is too much for a party at this nascent stages. Now, the question is - where do these voters go? They have a choice between Congress and TDP only. Why should I vote for Congresss? First, it comes with strong leadership unlike TDP which is on a shaky "alliance" with no compelling agenda for Coastal voters. May be Congress decision not to go with a seperate state will help to influence the voters to Congress. Second, of all the politicians in the state it is CBN who proved to be least trustworthy (along with his today's friend KCR). Knowing a person who was darling of reforms, it is hard to trust or vote for him in this new "welfare" avatar. Last, TDP wounded the Madiga community and humiliated them more than Rajasekhar Reddy. Now, this vote bank is clearly away from TDP. All, in all Congress will gain from the pains of PRP and unstable Mahakootami.
Rayalaseema is just four districts and of them Kadapa is off limits to all parties except Congress. It is Rajasekhar Reddy bastion. With the entry of his powerful son Jaganmohan Reddy - the play is strongly with Congress. In other disctricts - other than Chittoor, where TDP will make in roads rest of the region is going to be tough for TDP on account of it's deserted leaders from Reddy and BC communities. I will be surprised over all if TDP can make any gains here. With Chiranjeevi positioning in Tirupathi - existing votes will be split both from TDP and Congress.
Both in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra it is the strength of TDP that will decide - the winner since TRS and Communiusts are dummies in this region.
Lastly Telangana, this is the place where TDP made it's biggest political blunder. If it had not gone with TRS - it would have done very well - compared to last elections. It is the image of Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao that is going to cost TDP this election. There are two leaders who are facing serious public allegation on corrption / sales of MP and MLA tickets. One of them is KCR and other is Allu Aravind. While I question CBN's seriousness about seperate state, I am convinced that KCR does not want Telengana. If it comes his story is finished. Communists will make gains in this region due to seat sharing. Congresss appears to be in a strong position from where it was couple of years back when Telangana sentiment made situation very emotional. The strength of Congress in this region is it's leaders with strong cadre while TDP lost it in the course of five years.
BJP is the net looser and perhaps. The emerging star with significant vote bank will be Loksatta - but not more than couple of seats.
Well, I think Congress is the winner in the election. It might get between 135-170 seats. Top end or bottom end is decided by PRP rather than Mahakootami.
Let's wait and see!

New TDP, TRS and Communist Alliance - Why and What?
Four Leaders from four political parties with different ideologies, currently suffering from severe political identity crisis and power vacuum have come together to form a grand alliance.
TRS is formed with a sole objective to create a separate Telengana State. This party lost the best of opportunities to achieve the objective owing to it's leader K Chandrasekhara Rao's maverick political moves
TDP the grand party celebrating a quarter century of its existence - primarily created by NT Rama Rao with the sole objective Atmagowravam (self pride of Telugu's) . At least on paper differs on TRS idealogy
Two communist parties, whose do not have any agenda on their own, but always try to act as destructive forces for development or progress of any kind. If I were to vote TDP on Chandrababu Naidu's performance as CM, then Communists do not fit in the alliance structure.
KCR as Chandrasekhara Rao is known, left TDP to form the TRS - as he felt power deprivation at that time in Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Chandrababu Naidu, lost the power nearly five years ago largely due to his own mistakes is becoming desperate to regain the CM Gaddi - which is now turning a mirage due to stable Congress and recent emergence of Prajarajyam Party that is eating into it's vote base.
There is nothing significant to mention about the two Communist Parties - except that they have some base in every economically backward district in Andhra Pradesh.
Now all Four have come together - for Power. Power is the big sucker before elections. All have seen an opportunity here, before the elections - but none have credibility.
Chandrababu Naidu is known for his use and throw politics. He knows how to "use" anyone for his benefit and then dump at the earliest. KCR is least consistent politician in the state. He is known to contradict himself and his party repeatedly. Communist never enjoyed being closer to power as we have seen in the Centre early last year when they nearly pulled the Government down.
Now this alliance is acknowledging couple of things. First, individually they cannot beat either Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy or Chiranjeevi. Secondly, all four are bitter enemies of YSR and they wanted to defeat him.
Without going to merits of YSR or Chiru, it is hard to understand what these Four would offer Andhra Pradesh if they were fortunate to get elected to power. Probably, Nothing?
Babu will ditch KCR as soon as it was feasible. KCR will again give his mouth a mouthful job. Communists will keep Babu on hooks for a while and then they will depart. Babu will go back to his (hidden) agenda. As he took U turns on many issues ranging from Telengana, Free Power, Subsidies - it is highly impossible to know if Babu will take U or S turn.
Of course, in politics it is often seen that least trustworthy are winners. Let's see if this is the case in 2009!
