Telengana Results - Well done Congress and Telugu Desam

K Chandrasekara Rao and his Telengana Rastra Samithi (TSR) Car is now due for servicing. The results reflect one fact for sure - keeping aside Telengana sentiment for a moment, voters have given clear verdict that they no longer accept the fickle minded politics of the TRS and KCR in particular.

The result is a clear victory for both YS Rajasekhar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu.

With debacle in Karanataka, YSR given a sign of relief to Congress Party high command in Delhi. His development slogan clearly getting momentum. This also strengthens his position to a greater extent with in the party - and silence the maverick "seniors" who have been trying to remove the plug under YSR.

For Chandrababu Naidu - another non separatist, this victory provides life oxygen. With like of Goud and others getting into open rebellion, Babu now can regain some of his depleting authority or power.

The result may not necessarily mean that Telengana sentiment is gone. But the momentum will come down. The person largely responsible for this is none other than KCR and his maverick behaviour. With the expulsion of a hardcore Telengana leader like Narendra, KCR moved away for the core issue for long time. His efforts to bring up his son or nephews are clear indications to date of his vested personal interests.

For Congress high command, this a the right opportunity to ensure that - their Telengana Leaders like Venkata Swamy, M S Satyanarayana Rao or scores of Reddies would not provide "third" life to KCR. Also, congress got their best opportunity to keep KCR at a distance.

For KCR, his own survival in the election proved difficult. With toughest fight from Congress, the talk of 200,000 majority proved a mirage. This result will definetely put, the question of his contribution to his Karimnagar constituency in a perspective. With the next loksabha elections due anytime from now, there is a little opportunity to regain any lost ground. Also, with soured relationship with Sonia Gandhi or Manmohan Singh, it is hard for him to do his MP's job effectively.

May be it is time for the leaders in TRS to consider the position of KCR.
